about me

I was born in Tirupati, India, which is located in south east India. At the age of six, I moved to Starkville, Mississippi. When I was young, I thought I would be a professonal basketball player. But I quickly realized that I was too short and couldn't shoot. Going to my dad's office at Mississippi State University and playing with the computers there got me hooked to engineering.

I eventually ended up going to Georgia Tech for my under graduate. It was nice change from Starkville, which was a small town. After three years, I graduated and decided I should work a few years. I decided to stay in Atlanta and joined a company I interned with: Radiant Systems. After a few years working there, I decided I wanted to continue my education.

I landed at UCLA in fall of 2005. Now, I'm pursuing a PhD degree in Electrical Engineering in Embedded Computing Systems. When I'm not at the lab, I enjoy playing tennis, watching movies, and skate boarding.

interests

One of my passions is music. During my under graduate days, I was really into electronic music. Some of my favorite artists in that genre were Moby, BT, 808 State, and Daft Punk. Recently, I have expanded my tastes and am into all kinds of things. Just to name a few ... I enjoy listening to Beck, Neptunes, Lupe Fiasco, and Death Cab For Cutie. I have a guitar, which I don't ever play. I want a drum set and a turn table (which if I got I probably won't use). But none the less a good dream.

I'm also big into sports. I enjoy watching basketball, football, and baseball. My favorite teams in college are MSU, GaTech, and UCLA (obviously). In terms of professional teams, my top ones are the Chicago Bulls, San Diego Chargers, and Atlanta Braves. I'm also a Bills fan, but I don't really like to admit that.
